Jude x Emily
My third litter, from April-May 2016. They were a popular pair suggestion from my "who should I breed next" post.
Also known as the "Down on the Farm" litter because the pups had a farm animal theme.

The Parents
Click them for their pages:
I owned them both since April 2013 (bought only a few days apart). They're two of my favorite more "natural" characters I guess, and especially Jude was one of my more "high quality" characters in those days :p. I was almost going to maybe revamp them or at least Emily, but, nah, I still liked their original refs.
I also own Emily's sister Bella, from a different litter but same parents, I think Jake and Miley had like 3 different litters? And Jude is from Juno x Justice which was a small litter if I remember right, and I haven't seen them around in a while. Where did all these 2013 pups go to? :p

The Story
Yes this is one of my few litters that actually had a story, normally they don't because I don't feel like writing one and also don't feel like paying for one, but luckily Veira happened to be doing free writing at the time, so this happened. All credit to Veira (#1235956).

-Jude-
It was another warm sunny day with a few clouds wisping in the sky. The air smelled quite bright and crispy and I let out a small content sigh as I got to my paws. I had just been sunning myself near my rock collection and I felt warm and content. With the sun’s rays beaming down on me, I squinted my light green eyes taking a look at my rock collection before heading out of the farm. I decided to look for more pretty rocks that I could add to my collection. It was a good day so I might have good luck. I headed out towards the opposite direction I usually take and trotted south deciding to explore. I spotted a farm after a few minutes and I approached it curiously.
-Emily-
I groaned. I was so restless. Doing nothing was just so boring. It was sunny out and it was the perfect time to play but I had no one to play with. I sighed as I trotted around the barn. It was then that I saw the pigs rolling around in the mud puddles and I grinned. I glanced around making sure no one was watching me to scold me before dashing into a huge mud puddle with a huge splash. The pigs oinked at me and one of them approached me. “Mud puddles, again?” She asked sniffing around the mud puddle. I gave a grin. “Of course. Wouldn’t miss it for the world.” I rolled around the mud puddle with my pig friends and I sighed with satisfaction. “Ah this is the life.”
-Jude-
My ears perked up. Did I just hear a splash? I trotted closer to the farm and I couldn’t help but chuckle softly in amusement watching the pigs roll around in the mud puddle. My eyes widened quickly however when I spotted another animal with the pigs. What animal was that? I was curious but I couldn’t see it very well so I trotted closer. My paws however suddenly slipped on the mud. “Aah!” I shouted and I shut my eyes out of pure instinct.
-Emily-
I was busy rolling in the mud not paying attention to my surroundings when I heard a loud “Aah!” And then some animal crashed into me. “Oof” I responded. Ouch. That did kind of hurt a bit. I tilted my head and quickly blushed once I realized how close the animal was. But, from this proximity, I could see that he was a dog, a male at that and my face reddened even more.
-Jude-
I opened my eyes to see that I had landed on that strange animal from earlier. But now that I was this close, it was obvious that she was a dog, a female at that and then I realized the awkward position that we were in. Her eyes, a beautiful green, darker than my own, seemed to be twinkling at me and I found myself getting lost in her eyes. After a few moments, I heard an awkward cough from her and my eyes widened quickly. I scrambled to my paws and extended a paw to her to help her up.
-Emily-
As I stared into his light green eyes, I found them slowly pulling me in but I quickly snapped out of it and coughed awkwardly noticing that he seemed dazed. Did he hit me that hard? I slowly grabbed his extended paw and he managed to pull me up. I smiled slightly. “Um..thanks..” I said still feeling extremely awkward. The pigs around us were squealing and snorting seeming to be amused of this situation. “Do you live far from here..?” I asked trying to make a conversation. For some reason, I didn’t want him to leave.
-Jude-
I nodded. “You welcome..” I trailed off unsure on what to say. I sighed with relief at her question and I shook my head. “No, not really. Just up the road for ½ a mile.” I woofed. I tilted my head still admiring her beauty. Though her fur was still caked with mud, it was still so beautiful. “What is your name..?” I asked feeling a need to want, no, to have, to know her more. “I’m Jude..”
-Emily-
“Jude…” I woofed before adding in. “My name is Emily.” I woofed staring once again in his light green eyes. They were absolutely captivating and I could hear my heart beating in my chest. It was beating so hard, that it would have been no surprise if he could hear it.
-Jude-
As she stared at me intently, I felt a rush of emotions take over and I could feel my face redden with embarrassment. Why was she looking at me like that? My heart was beating and I could literally feel the tension in the air. I kept my eyes on her beautiful dark green eyes however and found myself being pulled in once again. I was unable to look away.
And after all these years, I still find myself unable to look away from her.

The Pups
This litter had 10 pups (more than I originally planned but eh it just happened), by 4 different artists including me (I made 5 pups).
Did I mention yet that there was a farm animal theme? There was a farm animal theme, which is why the story has Emily living on a farm and all that, and it was really just because someone randomly suggested it on my "who should I breed next" post and I hadn't seen that theme before and I somehow thought it fit with the parents' natural colors and I don't know. Emily did always love mud puddles though.

Pups by me:
Duck was sold to Mightyenapup. (#133984)
"Duck has this certain silly awkwardness that makes you laugh and you don't even know why. Even though he was the first born, he's one of the smaller pups, and his siblings make fun of him for all kinds of things including his size, his short fluffy tail, and that green spot on his head. Sometimes he just laughs along with them, but if you push him too far he can have quite a temper. He also loves to swim, it's a good way to cool down." * His design is simple 'cause I wanted him to be mostly white like a white duck, but then he also has that random green on his head, like those mallard ducks with the green heads. |
Cow was sold to Scar (#1306039).
"Cow is pretty lazy and bored all the time. She's content to just stand around all day, eat, and not do anything interesting ever. She stays calm no matter what happens. Seriously the world could be ending and she would just stand there and be bored. That's.. really all there is to say." * I was going to call her "Moo" or something instead, because Cow sounded like a weird name, but eh, I just went with Cow at the last minute, pretty much all these names are weird anyway :p. Also she has a random purplish-blackish color but not much of it. |
Horse was sold to Hawkey (#1210552).
"Horse is one of the biggest pups along with Cow but is the exact opposite of her. Horse is the most athletic pup and loves to go on long walks and explore the countryside (much like her parents) and also loves running, she can run and run and never get tired, and likes to challenge everyone to a race. She is really loyal to her family and friends and will help them with anything, and is pretty smart too." * Her design was kinda based on a bay horse (brown with dark legs/tail) and then I added too many other colors :o |
Pig was sold to SammyBlot. (#36661)
"Pig is a misunderstood guy.. Sure he can be greedy with food, is kind of a slob, and loves playing in mud puddles (much like his mother), but if you get to know him, he's also very smart, maybe smarter than most dogs. He can get into long discussions about science, history, and philosophy. He cares about his family and friends, and is also good at comforting anyone who's feeling down." * His colors/markings may not have much to do with pigs but he does have a curly tail :D (also random blue-grey color) |
Chicken was kept by me.
"Chicken was another of the smallest pups, and started acting tough and rebellious to avoid being picked on. But deep down she's really a coward, and if anything actually scary or dangerous happens, she will panic and probably run. She can also be somewhat paranoid and fear things that haven't happened yet and probably never will."
* Has cool hair. :O

Pup by Infected (Slated) (#1135624):
Goat was sold to HoneyMew (#159887).
"Goat seems pretty laid-back most of the time but is kind of a weirdo. Curious about everything, he can sometimes be found chewing on tin cans and other things that aren't food, and also likes climbing trees. If anyone talks to him, the conversation will probably turn to conspiracy theories even crazier than his sister Chicken's."

Pups by Lightstream (#1169439):
Sheep was sold to eddiam. (#1074085)
"Sheep is your typical sweet innocent pup. She tries to make friends with everyone, and is always trying to fit in and go with the crowd. While she usually isn't shy with socializing, she tends to easily be afraid of everything else, and hides behind her friends." |
Turkey was sold to SammyBlot.
"Turkey is really competitive, likes to show off and acts like he's better than everyone. Although, he's not really the brightest pup and tends to space out sometimes. Sometimes he tries to do crazy daredevil stunts, and often fails. But at least he's brave?" |
Pups by Mw3Wolf (#1253193):
Donkey was sold to Silkie (Thyme) (#1298671).
"Donkey is known as the stubborn one. If he thinks doing something is a bad idea, you will never get him to do that, and likewise if he wants to do something, almost no one can stop him. But with friends who he trusts and cares about, he might be more agreeable and come to compromises on things." |
Alpaca was sold to Mightyenapup. (check out her new ref in the link!)
"Alpaca thinks she's the prettiest pup, is always trying to keep her fluffy fur neat and clean, and is kind of vain and stuck-up. She can be a little selfish, rude or mean to others sometimes. But she's slowly learning to be nicer.. maybe. She's also excitable and enthusiastic about trying new things, as long as she can still look pretty." * (yeah i was running out of farm animals) |
That's all!
